April 5, 2008 Stretching – Michael Lipp

April 5, 2008

This is an exciting month – even not in Paris –I’m expanding into new markets and I’m enthusiastic about both.  I’m leading a most interesting teleseminar at the end of the month on Coaching 2.0.  And I’m coaching professional staffs, creating solid teams.  The staffs are absolutely essential to the practice, but who ever takes care of their staff?

And my youngest daughter is in her 8th month.  I’ll be leading a Symposium as she enters her 9th.  I haven’t written about this activity.  But it has accented my mission.  This is the “Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream” symposium, developed by the Pachamama Alliance.  It’s purpose (my mission) is to have a sustainable environment, social justice and spiritual fulfillment present for all of us.

I’ve begun to distribute my newest book, The Principles of Relationships and on April 21 I’m starting my newest class on that subject.  There’s more, but that should give you a sense of the month ahead.

December 29, 2007 Does great create great?

December 30, 2007

I keep thinking I hate football and should give it up.  I hate it because of off-field antics; the hypocrisy about drugs and because of the constant and serious injuries.  And I watch it because  I loved playing, beause of the grace and beauty of individual plays and because I study team.

Last night’s Giants vs. Patriots game had much of what I hate and love.  Hate? Injuries decimated the Giants.  Love – Replacement players were wonderful (In another sport, Lou Gehrig got his start as a replacement player)

It was one of the greatest games I ever saw.  Do we play to the level of our competition?  The Giants had no reason to play except pride and the love of the game.  And they forced the Patriots to show how great they are.  Each teatm played to the level of the other team.  I think that finally the Giant defense was tired.  And the injury to their center caused a critical fumble.  And also, though I won’t see the game films, I think the center’s injury resulted in just that much extra pressure on Manning so he lost just that much sharpness.

But they caused Brady to demonstrate his greatness – possibly the greatest overall  QB performance I’ve seen (and I’ve been watching for 50 years)- The Giants pushed them to the Giant’s limit and they were a match.

This will certainly excited interest in the Giant’s playoff game(s) and, absolutely, for the Pat’s Games

November 25, 2007 4th time through

November 26, 2007

I am doing a particular cycle of meditations, one each day for ten days, repeated four times.  I am in the middle of my fourth time through and I’ve become attached to this.  What if I continued to repeat?  If not, what should I replace this with?  I ask because this frames my day, creates a background for me.

On a different subject — I am forced (despite a long history in opposition) to acknowledge the Philadelphia Eagles.  They lost last night to the Patriots, but it was a most honorable loss – They were 24 point underdogs and NE eeked out a 31-28 win.  They were well trained, well prepared… It was the true definition of a moral victory.  And their back-up quarterback was sensational and can easily replace McNabb.

I say this after not  watching football during the day..  I am breaking away from it.  My recent attention to team keeps me interested.  Every play requires the integrated performance of 11 men – We are inevitable drawn to a few key performers on both offense and defense – This dilutes our attention and our ability to see team.  From time to time the analysts demonstrate how the key performers couldn’t do that without the rest of the team…but it’s mostly invisible.  And we are also kept invisible to the hierarchy of coaching that has the team play – the overall plan set by the head coach, how that is reflected by the offensive and defensive coaches and then to the coaches of the component coaches:  the line coaches, the quarterback coach, the offensive and defensive backfield coaches, and so on…And further in the background – the conditioning coach, etc.

We have mostly one coach.

November 12, 2007 Starting Again

November 12, 2007

Even though I work from home, Monday still somehow starts my week.  I think we all have the issue of regaining continuity.  My wife is “a morning person.”  She somehow starts ‘ in the flow.’  I don’t… takes morning coffee (which is now my only cup) and a few etceteras.  I meditate – today on thanking Universe as the source and substance of all my good – my well being, my prosperity,.. all of it.  Then I read the essence of my emails:  Levey’s Wisdom At Work, Abraham-Hicks, Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale, Charity Focus,… Yes, it’s a lot, and it cranks me up.  So I write this, grateful for all of it… and it’s still the morning.  I’m consciously practicing going to sleep earlier so I will awaken earlier… creating a new cycle so I can match my wife in the flow.

Tonight is Session 5 of my free seminar based on Jack Canfield’s The Success Principles. The next series starts Wednesday.

I’ve asked myself ,”why am I doing this?”  This is my third time.  And I see that 1) I become part of an extraordinary team (that you may be part of) 2) I learn more each time 3) I get value merely from the structure 4) I fully support Jack’s purpose  5) It’s fun!

October 16, 2007 – Rock Your World

October 16, 2007

I mean Rockies our world – We should study and try to figure this out.  Who is this team?  Really unknown in the East – and likely unseen, because we don’t stay up that late.  But they now have the major league record for fielding; they likely have the MVP, coming from nowhere to beat the Met’s (who?) Wright and the Phil’s (who?) Rollins.

Their winning streak is beyond belief – They came from nowhere, creating improbable wins – some would say impossible.  Aside from Todd Helton, we know none of their names – never heard of any of their pitchers..  I don’t think they ever heard of the word ‘ego.’

They epitomize ‘team’ and require study.  I’m on their side for the World Series.

What does this have to do with Creating Today?  If I could know their secret,… (I wonder if anyone bet on them – even in September)
