June 3, 2008 Intention

Hard to distinguish intention from vision, goal, mission,…  All of these words have a role in propelling us to the future…and sometimes I think the difference is in my mood.  What it looks like today is that my intention is motivating me to stop this and start that, to get on with it.

My intention is to focus on my income potential… so this looks like indulgence – It’s taken a while to babysit with Camron, cook and eat breakfast and break away from today’s book.  So I’m behind.  Have to pass over my email and get going.  Money distracts me and I have to undistract.  Always helps to restate my commitments-bringing joy and satisfaction to people’s lives – in harmony with Earth; environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment to all.

May 29, 2008 One More Time

Our youngest, Ariel, gave birth yesterday shortly after 4AM to a lovely boy, un-named as of this writing…a natural childbirth.  She will be home tomorrow.  She had to fill out all sorts of forms because she won’t allow any vaccinations.

He is my 8th, and likely last grandchild.  I’ve been very laid back about him, but as I write various friends I realize how excited I really am.  There’s something in that – how sharing with others reveals you to yourself.

So in this year so far, our youngest daughter Ariel has given birth, Sunny, our oldest - because of Aliya’s love – is moving to a house of her own.  I tell you, her yard is the yard of a million dollar home and the home is in Hamilton, near an excellent school.  And my now next older grandson is almost 8 months old – He talks with me all the time.

When you have family like that, nothing else matter.  We are blessed One More Time.  I am secure in my commitments – to a sustainable planet, to social justice and to spiritual fulfillment.

May 8,2008 Dancing and Praying

Things work out.  But you can’t know that until they do.  So you have to put in every effort — dance like there’s always music — pray because you know you’re not alone.  And have gratitude for the ending.  Because they do work out.

You don’t need to hear stories; you have yours.

Stay true to your commitments, your vision, your purpose, your mission.  You’ll define yours for yourself.  When therre’s too much going on, relax – that’s the way you want it, even though it’s messy.

Mine is simple – to empower people to have joy and satisfaction, to live fulfilled lives in harmony with earth… to make real a sustainable environment, spiritual fulfillment and social justice.

April 27, 2008 My Greening

Yesterday I co-facilitated a Symposium (Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream)… It is more powerful than ever, always evolving.  It grows as it goes, because so do we. 

I’ve bveen asking myself, along with Nancy — “What’s next?”..There are some things we can do that we’re not ready to do:  replacing all our windows and getting a new furnace.  And there are some things we can’t figfure out how to do:  getting rid of all plastic (we can’t figure out how to eliminate all plastic wrapping on food products, but we’re coming close.  But we can’t possibly commit to not getting more eyeglasses, never buying computer, car, cell phone, etc.) so we’re putting that on hold.

But what we can do is increase our talking to people.  I started a new blog today:  MYGreening.  And I’ll start speaking about what we can do without scr ewing ourselves up….There’s nobody but us.

 

April 25, 2008 Focus

I finally realized, after 71 years, that I’m simply not focused.  Probably chronic, undiagnosed ADD.  It’s been a virtue, lets me be involved in many things.  Would account for my writing, art, computer skills, teaching, diverse projects – lots.  And it also qccounts for my being pulled in many directions at once.

I’ve been forced to see this.  Whenever something new comes along, I want to try it.  And too many new things come along.  So I don’t fully explore what is suddenly old, because I’m eager to do what’s new.

So I try to use very broad brushes.  That way I focus on my brush strokes.  I focus on a sustainable environment, on social justice and on spiritual fulfillment – a healthy world and all of us in it, including me.

April 24, 2008 Today is Different

I did today backwards because I brought my car in for service – So I hit the gym at 7:30, then to the car place, then home for breakfast and a client.  So here I am at 1PM, doing my morning.  I wonder about the rest of the day.

I have the luxury of creating every day – I suppose we all have, even if it’s totally scheduled.  Inside the constraints of scheduling, we still create every moment – I caught myself when I said this is a luxury, but like most of us most of the time, we don’t realize that we really do create every moment.  Our minds are always ours; our responses to inputs are our responses.  And the responses determine the day, not the inputs.

For me, this is n’t Earth Day, or week.  It’s Earth Always.  And there’s nobody except us who are going to get the job done.  I got rid of one of my cars; I use cloth bags to shop with, I belong to a local CSA; I use wind power for 20% of my PSE&G bill.  I use CFBs.  But that’s not nearly enought.  I don’t eat red meat, but that’s not nearly enough.  I stand for environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment.

April 18, 2008 Exercise ———–michael lipp

Went to see my chiropractor last night.  I’m down to 168 -  2+ years ago I started at 245.  I can now see myself at 160 – even less.  I have to buy new clothes again.  Also looking at how I exercise.  Taking Camron for daily walks is actually sufficient.  I like to walk; looking forward to exploring all the walking tours on the Cape.

Haven’t written a  lot here – because I’m writing a lo all over.  Really pointing to the teleseminar I’m giving in 12 days.  And the Symposium I’m participating in a week from tomorrow.  I love the possibility of turning people on to new futures.  My commitment is to a new future for all of us – or environmental sustainability, to spiritual fulfillment and o ocial justice.

April 12, 2008 Stopping michael lipp

Starting and stopping are the hardest things.  Inertia is both physically and psychologically difficult to deal with.  Mostly we talk about starting, but strting one thing often means stoppping something else and stopping is very hard.  I use the analogy of my washing machine.  The final spin cycle shakes my whole house – probably true of the presidency, too.

It’s very clear that solving the climate crisis means stopping many of the things we’re used to.  Establishing a carbon tax as the basic tax will work, but will have far reaching effects.  Better than the alternatives, however… much better – food shortages, droughts, extreme weather.

Stop driving?  We can’t even get people to car pool.  Stop watering lawns?  You’re kidding, right?

We too quickly become habituated.  It takes long, strong laws, enforcement and public relation campaigns.  And we need to start now.  When I say I’m out to have people have joy and satisfaction, I need to look past today.  Immediate gratification does not often lead to long periods of joy and satisfaction.  If I’m out for environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment, I may have to learn how to stop things with joy and satisfaction.

April 10, 2008 Ready

I now know what to say.  I have the teleseminar date, time and topic.  I have the host participants.  All I need is the paying guests.  I’m asking a fee of $23 and I’m giving the first 75 participants a new book that I charge $12.95 for.  So it’s a net of $10+ I’ll start the inviting today.  It’s an exciting time.

I’m sometimes taken aback by how I mix extreme activity with extreme non-activity.  Yesterday was extreme activity – coached a staff of 10, led my Awesome Results class and then led my new mastermind group.  And still had time for the Daily show.  Today I have folllow up planned, just follow up.  I’m reading a Nero Wolf I’d either never read or don’t remember.

This teleseminar is completely in line with my commitment to bring joy and satisfaction to people’s lives and it supports my mission which is to presence environmental sustainability, spiritual fulfillment and social justice everywhere and for everyone.

April 8, 2008 Frustrated

It’sot like me to say it….I don’t have enough of you reading this.  I mean – this particular blog, I write for me mostly.  Still, having 3 of you read it is discouraging, because I do have interesting things to say (maybe once a week, maybe less, maybe more)

Happening at a time where I feel my confidence growing again.  One reason I do this is to give me an opportunity to write my commitment and my mission on a daily basis.  Not that it will disapppear, but putting it out in the world works for me.

I am commited to bringing joy and satisfaction to people’s lives and I stand for environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment for everyone on our planet.
